U-Pick Treasures
Two Bees & a Bud You-Pick Flower Farm is right outside New Richmond, and you’ll feel welcome on their 40-acre property, where you can pick your own beautiful bouquets. This is perfect for families or a fun date, along with classes and live music on Friday nights that will make your visit unforgettable. Pack a picnic and make a day of it!
Pickablue Farm is the place for picking your own blueberries right from the bush. Their blueberries have even won “Grand Champion” a few years in a row at the county fair. The picking season generally runs from June through August, so grab a sunhat, some sunscreen, and bring the kids along for taste-testing quality control.
Star Prairie Berries and Produce has you-pick bushes of both blueberries and raspberries, just a few minutes out of town. Watch their Facebook page for when the berries are ready for picking. The farm has a laid-back vibe, and don’t be surprised if there’s just a note to drop some money in a box for your berries.
Fresh Market Finds
Get an amazing start to your morning with the best of local bounty at nearby farm stands and markets, which overflow with just-picked produce, fresh eggs, baked goods, honey, and handmade treats. Visitors can chat with growers and sample the season’s best.
The 45th Parallel Distillery offers visitors a great experience at their Market at the 45th, which runs every Sunday from June through October, from 10 am to 2 pm. There are many local vendors offering fresh produce, meats, cheese, honey, and more, as well as unique crafts. Shoppers can enjoy all of that while enjoying live music and the distillery’s Bloody Mary Bar.
New Richmond Farmers Market Heritage Center is a fun stop every Saturday morning (8 am -1 pm) where you may find egg rolls, fresh produce, handmade jams and salsas, and tasty baked goods. Drop your name in the hat to win the weekly drawing for a basket of products from the market. Watch their Facebook page for “Family Days” when the market has special vendors, and the first 50 kids get a few dollars of “market moola” to spend as they would like.
Enjoy fresh food from local farmers on your plate at Table 65. A farm-to-table restaurant that prides itself on supporting nearby farmers and producers, you’ll find farm-raised meats and seasonal produce featured throughout the menu. Every meal celebrates the flavors of the region while showcasing the connections between local farms and the dining table.
Hands-On Farm Fun
