Know where the fun is before you go. New Richmond lights up with must-attend events that bring the community together all season long. Whether you walk the midway with Fun Fest, venture out to the Park Art Fair, or soak up the downtown scene’s atmosphere at gatherings of all kinds, you’ll find celebrations packed with food, music, and good times for everyone.

One of the most popular summer festivals in the area, Fun Fest draws thousands each July with carnival rides, exciting games and food vendors, live music, and a large parade through downtown. This multiday extravaganza, hosted by the New Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce, also includes live music and fireworks at Legion Fest, youth and adult tennis invitationals, and a slow-pitch tournament at Hatfield Park. It’s the perfect way to launch your summer fun right in downtown.

The Heritage Hillside Series at the New Richmond Heritage Center serves up a musical treat all summer long. With the natural amphitheater of a small hill for sitting and watching these outdoor concerts, the series showcases a range of genres—bluegrass, blues, country, and swing, to name a few. It’s an easygoing way to spend your evening outside with beer, wine, and soda for sale. It’s a cherished tradition that showcases the city’s dynamic arts and culture scene.

Summer Activities

The New Richmond Golf Club is perfect for a sunny summer day. This club features a 18-hole course and a 9-hole course, cut through by the Willow River and with mature trees, so golfers of any skill level can enjoy the variety of challenging layouts. For high thrills, Cedar Lake Speedway is the place for world-class dirt track racing. Typically, a season includes weekly races and major events like the Masters (early to mid-June), World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Fireworks (late June), and the USA Nationals (late-July to early August).

Bloom into summer at Two Bees and a Bud, New Richmond’s you-pick flower farm. The season usually spans from July to September. In addition to new bouquets and Sip & Snip parties, guests can take in the nature trails winding through the woods or lounge around by the pond.

Find peace at Soulspace Farm Sanctuary, A rescue and rehabilitation center for farm animals. Enjoy a Sunday Sanctuary stroll with the friendly residents, including pigs, cows, sheep, and so much more.

Regional Events

New Richmond’s summer calendar extends beyond the city limits, with exciting regional events just a short drive away in the St. Croix Valley. The festivals and venues bring extra music, history, food, and family fun to your summer plans.

A close venue, Somerset Amphitheater, has long been synonymous with the fun of watching big-name live music beneath the stars in Somerset. Fungi Fest is an annual spring event that celebrates morel mushroom season and is family-friendly, held in nearby Erin Prairie. Typically taking place in mid-May at Ridiculous Ranch, the festival features a mix of Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, Roots, and Indie Music across multiple stages, along with mushroom activities and laid-back vibes. It’s a unique and “spore-tacular” way to kick off the summer season.

In Star Prairie, Wisconsin, there is a long-running, family-oriented town festival, Ox Cart Days, generally held on the last weekend in August. Enjoy a classic, deep-rooted small-town festival complete with live music, parades, food vendors, games, and a wide range of activities for all ages.

Located in Hammond, Wisconsin, the annual Hammond Heartland Days usually happens during the first week of August at Heartland Park. The multi-day event brings the community together with live music, a grand parade, truck and tractor pulls, tournaments, and plenty of family-friendly entertainment, from carnival-style fun to local traditions.
