For more than a decade, 45th Parallel Distillery has welcomed visitors to its annual Barrels and Bluegrass celebration, transforming its New Richmond grounds into a fun gathering place filled with music, great food, and drinks. Talented bluegrass bands take the outdoor stage throughout the day, creating the perfect soundtrack for a relaxing afternoon under the Wisconsin sky.

Tunes & Tastings
The highlight of Barrels and Bluegrass is the live music that fills the air from noon until 6 p.m. A lineup of talented local musicians and regional bluegrass bands takes the outdoor stage, creating an energetic atmosphere that will have you tapping your toes or getting up to dance. Past performers such as The Foxgloves, The Pistol Whippin’ Party Penguins, and Billy Bronsted have each brought their own unique style and sound, making every year’s festival a little different while staying true to its bluegrass roots.
As you enjoy the performances, adults 21 and older can purchase handcrafted cocktails, award-winning spirits, and guided tastings featuring 45th Parallel Distillery’s vodkas, whiskeys, and other small-batch creations. Be sure to keep an eye out for their special limited-edition barrel releases, available while supplies last.
Bites & Brews
The event welcomes guests of all ages, making it a fun day out for families, friends, and music lovers. Between live performances, visitors can grab a bite at the 45th Kitchen, where popular wood-fired pizzas and warm, freshly baked pretzels are always crowd favorites. Outside, a variety of local food trucks offer everything from savory specialties to sweet treats.
Beyond the music and food, Barrels and Bluegrass offers plenty of opportunities to experience what makes 45th Parallel Distillery unique. Free distillery tours depart at the top of every hour from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., offering guests an inside look at the production process and a chance to explore the impressive barrel-aging house where award-winning spirits mature.
Throughout the event, local artisans and makers showcase handmade crafts, artwork, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind goods, making it easy to browse for a special keepsake or gift. Whether you’re spending the afternoon listening to bluegrass, sampling local flavors, shopping with regional vendors, or learning about the distilling process, Barrels and Bluegrass offers a memorable experience that celebrates music, craftsmanship, and community.
