Rest & Relax

Know where you’re staying before you go. New Richmond offers welcoming hotels for travelers with pets. Whether you select AmericInn by Wyndham, Coratel Inn & Suites by Jasper, or Ti Voglio Bene Bed & Breakfast, you’ll have pet-friendly places to stay as well as good amenities for a good night’s sleep. You and your four-legged pal can take in all that excitement, then come back to a homey space to rest and recharge for the next day’s journey.

Tastes & Treats

Looking to get a bite with your furry friend? You’re in luck. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are often allowed in outdoor seating areas in Wisconsin, and New Richmond has some great outdoor dining experiences. Always call ahead to confirm if your pooch is welcome.

With summer comes Patio Pup Season at 45th Parallel Distillery. Your furry best friend is more than welcome on the patio, where they keep doggie water dishes on hand (no one goes thirsty at the Distillery!). Stop by for brunch, or enjoy one of their popular wood-fired pizzas.

Wild Badger Sports Saloon delivers a casual sports-bar atmosphere with a pet-friendly patio. The Paws on the Patio menu makes sure your four-legged companion is treated just as well as you are. With classic burgers, cold drinks, and games like pool and darts, it’s an easygoing place to unwind while your pup kicks back in the table shade.

Craving Mexican flavors? Leashed dogs are welcome to join diners at outdoor tables at Garibaldi’s. From chilaquiles and chimichangas to freshly fajita salads, there’s a feel good dish on the menu waiting for the two of you.

If you are looking for a laid back place to grab a drink and a bite to eat, then Lift Bridge Brewing Company, home of Busted Knuckle BBQ, is a great stop, especially if your dog is tagging along. The outdoor patio is dog friendly, making it easy to relax with a locally crafted beer and maybe some ribs or brisket while your furry friend lounges at your feet.

Paws & Pathways

There are many outdoor spaces in New Richmond where you and your pup can go for a stroll to stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery. With 16 miles of trails in the city, you’ll tire your pup out before you run out!

  • Mary Park has a walking path along Mary Park Lake, which includes picnic areas to enjoy the view. This park has a great inclusive playground for the kids, and at the end of each May, you and your furry buddy can enjoy the annual Park Art Fair, a New Richmond tradition.
  • For some glimpses of the area’s natural beauty, Doar Prairie Savanna is home to native prairie grasses and plants, and a quiet spot for walking or maybe sitting and enjoying some bird-watching. An added bonus is the connecting trail that takes us to the next park on our list.
  • Spread across woodlands bordering the Willow River, Sather Nature Center offers picturesque trails and footbridges to make it a longer walk with your pet.
  • Paperjack Park is a favorite place to take the family. There’s plenty of open space and access to pathways and trails to ride or walk on. Be sure to look for the Oakes Ruins while wandering the paths.
  • And when your pooch is ready to make some friends, the New Richmond Area Off Leash Dog Park is specially designed for safety, with separate sections based on dog size and a pavilion and picnic tables so owners can sit back while their dog has fun.
  • Dogs are allowed on 13 miles of the Willow River State Park trail system, and you are welcome to bring the pooch along when camping. Although dogs are not allowed in pavilions or on the beach, the park has designated pet picnic areas with tables and grills. Be sure to keep your dog on a leash (8 feet or less) and check out the views of the Willow River Gorge and Willow Falls.
